Masso Antico is a wine brand owned and distributed by the Swiss Schenk family, based in Salento, Puglia, with wines also crafted in Abruzzo. Its focus is on expressing Southern Italy through native varieties, particularly those of Salento, shaped by Mediterranean conditions and clay-and-tuff soils. The vineyards include traditionally trained Alberello Pugliese vines, and grapes are harvested in the early morning to preserve freshness. Winemaking combines controlled stainless-steel fermentation with oak, amphora, and lees aging, bringing together traditional and modern techniques. The range includes organic, special, and zero-alcohol wines; at least one Negroamaro Salento IGT carries BIO certification. Production includes in-house work and a partnership with Cantine di Ora, with winemakers Daniele and Carlo overseeing grape selection and vinification.
