Mas de Daumas Gassac

France

Mas de Daumas Gassac is a Guibert family estate in Aniane, in the Haute Vallée du Gassac of Languedoc-Roussillon, founded in the early 1970s by Aimé and Véronique Guibert and now run by the second generation. The vineyards are planted in small clearings within protected garrigue forest, with a strong focus on respect for nature, biodiversity, and terroir expression. The estate is organically certified, farms without chemical fertilizers, and uses practices including mating disruption, bat boxes, mechanical weeding, grass cover, and compost based on Larzac sheep manure. It is also known for old, non-cloned varieties, hand harvesting, and a long-standing collaboration with Émile Peynaud. The wines are recognized for freshness, finesse, complexity, and ageing potential.
