Marco Ferrari is a young, owner-operated estate in Valtellina, Lombardy, founded in 2019 by winemaker Marco Ferrari. The vineyards lie on steep, hand-worked terraces in the Sassella and Inferno sub-zones, with mineral-rich soils of glacial gravel, schist, granite, and large stones. Farming follows organic principles with a biodynamic approach, though without formal certification. In the cellar, Ferrari works with a low-intervention philosophy, using native-yeast spontaneous fermentations, whole-cluster fermentation, long maceration, ageing on lees in neutral demi-muids, very low sulfur, and no fining or filtration. The wines reflect a traditional, manual approach from a small artisanal project.
