Tenuta Valdipiatta

Italy

Valdipiatta is a family-owned estate in south-eastern Tuscany’s Vino Nobile di Montepulciano region, acquired by Giulio Caporali in the late 1980s and managed by his daughter Miriam since 2002. Miriam, who studied winemaking in Bordeaux, leads a hands-on approach, matching harvest and fermentation decisions to vineyard soils while respecting Tuscan tradition. EU organic certified since 2018, the estate uses cover crops, organic fertilizers, compost, protected ecological corridors, and reduced chemical treatments to promote biodiversity and soil health. Its wines focus on Sangiovese—known locally as Prugnolo Gentile—including Chianti Colli Senesi, Rosso di Montepulciano, and Vino Nobile di Montepulciano, with a style balancing tradition, clarity, and drinkability.
