Quinta do Crasto

Portugal

Quinta do Crasto is a historic, family-owned Douro estate in Gouvinhas, managed by the Roquette family for more than a century. With records dating to 1615, it combines traditional heritage with modern winemaking across Quinta do Crasto and Quinta da Cabreira. The estate preserves centenary vineyards, including Vinha Maria Teresa and Vinha da Ponte, and uses hand-picked grapes, parcel-by-parcel vinification and traditional foot-treading in granite lagares for Port and selected reds. Its viticulture emphasizes ecosystem balance, old-vine preservation, genetic mapping and biodiversity, with a stated commitment to avoiding non-approved products. Producing Douro DOC wines, Port and olive oils, Quinta do Crasto seeks wines that are elegant, fresh, structured and expressive of the Douro’s schist soils and varied grape heritage.
