NeueHeimat

Austria

NeueHeimat is a small estate on the Sernauberg near Gamlitz in southern Styria, where Christian Söll farms 11 hectares of vineyards. Organic since 2017 under BIO AUSTRIA, the estate is progressing through Demeter biodynamic conversion, with composting, natural preparations, biodiversity zones, sheep, habitat creation and low-input farming supporting living soils. Evolving from the Goedwinemakers project and officially launched under the NeueHeimat name in 2022, the winery emphasizes community, openness and the diversity of its region. Wines are made with natural yeasts and spontaneous fermentation, full malolactic conversion and extended lees aging, mostly in oak. They are bottled with minimal sulfur and without fining or filtration, expressing a restrained, lively and individual style shaped by the area’s conglomerate soils and southern Styrian climate.
