Masùt da Rive

Italy

Masùt da Rive is a family-run estate in Mariano del Friuli, in the Isonzo valleys of Friuli-Venezia Giulia. The Gallo family has dedicated itself to viticulture since 1900, with Fabrizio and Marco Gallo now continuing the work of their father, Silvano, who founded the winery in 1978. The estate farms 28 hectares using sustainable practices, including renewable energy, mechanical weeding without chemical herbicides, and water-saving sub-irrigation. Its wines express the Isonzo terroir, with fine, distinctive whites and characterful, long-lived reds. The estate is particularly associated with Pinot Nero, which Silvano pioneered in Friuli from the 1980s, treating it in the vineyard and cellar with the care traditionally given to great white wines.
