Honig is a family-owned winery in Rutherford, Napa Valley, founded by Louis Honig in 1964 after he purchased the vineyard. Now operated by his grandson Michael Honig, the estate focuses on Cabernet Sauvignon and Sauvignon Blanc, including single-vineyard Cabernet, with a strong belief that quality begins in the vineyard. Honig is certified by the California Sustainable Winegrowing Alliance and Fish Friendly Farming, and its practices include solar power, water conservation, cover crops, composting, native habitat, and biodiversity initiatives involving sheep, birds, bees, and sniffer dogs. The winery began producing wine in 1980 and maintains a long-standing commitment to environmentally responsible farming and operations.
