Antico Podere Gagliole is a family-run estate in Panzano in Chianti, Tuscany, led by the Bär family with three generations involved. Its vineyards lie across Castellina in Chianti, the Conca d’Oro of Panzano, and Badia a Passignano, with a strong focus on Sangiovese and on expressing Chianti Classico typicity rather than an international style. The vineyards and cellar are certified organic, supported by integrated and agro-ecological farming, green manure, biodiversity measures, and the preservation of ancient dry stone terraces. Winemaking is overseen by enologist-agronomist Giulio Carmassi. A new winery inaugurated with the 2019 harvest combines modern technology with the estate’s “Passion for Taste” philosophy, while sustainability is further supported by geothermal and solar energy.
