Deltetto

Italy

Family-owned Deltetto has made wine in Canale, in Piedmont’s Roero, since 1953, continuing a winemaking tradition that reaches back to the late 1800s. Now run by the third generation, with Tony Deltetto leading the cellar, the estate focuses on native Piedmont varieties including Arneis, Barbera and Nebbiolo, selecting vineyards according to soil and exposure in Canale, Santo Stefano Roero and Castellinaldo. Its marine-origin sandstone soils contribute aromatic whites and elegant, long-lived reds. Farming has been certified organic since 2017, with hand harvesting, no herbicides, green manure, composting and careful copper-and-sulphur protection. Photovoltaic energy, FSC-certified recycled packaging and on-site wastewater treatment further support its environmental approach. In the cellar, the family pursues fine, authentic expressions, including Barolo made in Canale since 1961 and Metodo Classico sparkling wines produced entirely in-house since 1980.
