Family-owned Goldschmidt Vineyards is a boutique Sonoma County operation founded and led by New Zealand-born winemaker Nick Goldschmidt. The winery focuses on handcrafted, small-production, site-specific and single-vineyard wines, particularly Cabernet Sauvignon from Alexander Valley and Napa Valley’s Oakville, alongside wines sourced from international regions including New Zealand, Argentina and Chile. Nick’s extensive experience across California, Australia, New Zealand and South America informs a style centered on expressive vineyards, richness, quality and balance. His family is closely involved, with his wife and five children contributing to the winery, including daughter Katherine, who makes the Katherine Cabernet with him. The estate also includes a seven-acre Dry Creek Valley vineyard planted to Merlot clone 337. Sustainability certifications are not specified, although Nick has expressed a commitment to regenerative farming.
