Château Violet-Lamothe is a small, family-run estate in Preignac, Sauternes, owned by the Lahiteau family since the French Revolution. Jean-Pierre Lahiteau is the owner, while his daughter Joëlle Lahiteau serves as winemaker. The estate works with old vines averaging 60 years, which are hand-picked. Wines are fermented at 20°C, aged for two years in cement tanks, and then further matured in French oak. The property produces traditional Sauternes from a long-established family estate; no organic practices or sustainability certifications are noted.
