Château Lamartine

France

Château Lamartine is a fourth-generation family estate in Cahors, in France’s Sud-Ouest, run today by siblings Lise and Benjamin Gayraud. Founded in 1883, the domaine is rooted in the clay and limestone terraces of the Lot Valley, with south-facing vineyard sites that support Malbec ripening while preserving freshness. The family has long been tied to Cahors, and an earlier generation helped defend the creation of the appellation. Farming follows an agri-environmental philosophy focused on the living balance of the vineyard, with soil work, green harvests, organic certification, and vegan-friendly practices. In the cellar, the aim is to make wines faithful to Cahors: frank, balanced, and fresh.
