Akilia is a family-owned, family-supported winery in Ponferrada, Bierzo, in Castilla y León, with vineyards in the foothills of the Montes Aquilanos. Founded by winemaker Mario Rovira, a Catalan trained in enology and agronomy in Tarragona, the estate reflects his experience in New Zealand, Sancerre, Napa Valley, and Bordeaux. Akilia focuses on precise, terroir-expressive wines with fresh acidity and moderate alcohol, following natural wine principles and a minimal-intervention approach in the cellar.
