La Torre alle Tolfe

Italy

La Torre alle Tolfe is a family-run organic estate in Chianti Colli Senesi, just outside Siena in Tuscany. Owned by Mania Castelli with her husband Mark and her brother, the historic property has documented vine-growing dating back to 1316 and was acquired by the Castelli family in the 1950s. Certified organic since 2003, the estate farms with a regenerative, low-intervention approach, including manual vineyard work, spontaneous grass cover, biodiversity monitoring, and spontaneous fermentations with low sulfur use. Sandy, marine-origin soils rich in fossils help give the wines a bright, saline character. The estate also produces olive oil and includes hospitality, a restaurant, and agritourism.
