Giaconda is a family-owned estate in Beechworth, Victoria, founded by Rick Kinzbrunner, a mechanical engineer turned winemaker with experience in Australia, California and Bordeaux. The winery remains under family control, with Rick’s son Nathan serving as Assistant Winemaker and General Business Manager. Certified organic since 2018 by the Bio Dynamic Research Institute, the estate follows Australian Demeter biodynamic farming. Giaconda focuses on estate vineyard wines including Chardonnay, Roussanne, Pinot Noir, Shiraz and Nebbiolo, with wines aged in barrel and bottle before release and offered annually in limited quantities. In the cellar, the approach includes gravity-flow handling, indigenous yeasts, natural malolactic fermentation, French oak ageing, minimal sulphur and no filtration.
