Georges Lignier & Fils

France

Georges Lignier et Fils is a long-established family estate in Morey-Saint-Denis, Burgundy, now in its fourth generation and led since 2008 by Benoît Stehly, nephew of Georges Lignier. The domaine farms old vines across a wide range of appellations, including Clos Saint-Denis Grand Cru. Vineyard work follows lutte raisonnée, with reduced chemical treatments, biodiversity promotion, and grass kept between rows to encourage deeper rooting. In the cellar, Stehly follows a low-intervention approach, using partial destemming, cold pre-fermentation maceration, temperature-controlled fermentations, and French oak tailored to the level of the wine. The wines are neither fined nor filtered.
