Felton Road

New Zealand

Felton Road is a family-run estate in Bannockburn, Central Otago, founded in 1991 and owned by Nigel Greening since 2000. With about 34 hectares of vines across four vineyards, it produces around 150,000 bottles annually, focusing on Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Riesling. The winery is a strict domaine, adhering to a zero-growth policy and practicing fully organic and biodynamic viticulture, certified by Demeter and BioGro. It is also a Certified B Corp (2024) and an IWCA member, pursuing carbon-zero goals through regenerative farming, on-site biodiversity, and solar power. Winemaker Blair Walter, leading since 1997, employs a non-interventionist approach: gravity flow, wild yeasts, and minimal fining or filtration to express terroir. The estate emphasizes single-vineyard expressions, with high demand managed via a Block List for loyal customers.
