Fattoria La Magia

Italy

Fattoria La Magia is a family-run estate in Montalcino, founded in the 1970s and now managed by Fabian Schwarz, who oversees both viticulture and winemaking. Its flagship vineyard is a single block of 40-year-old Sangiovese at 400–450 metres, on stony, clay-rich soils with strong water retention and southeast exposure. Certified organic, the estate has pursued sustainability since the 1980s, using solar hot-water panels and, since 2008, photovoltaics that make the cellar energy self-sufficient. Brunello di Montalcino, including the single-vineyard Ciliegio, is central to the range, alongside Rosso and other wines. Winemaking combines advanced technology with minimal interference and natural fermentation. Since 1982, selected bottles have also featured labels created by contemporary artists, reflecting the family’s interest in the relationship between wine and art.
