Nerd Duck

Duckman is a family-run boutique winery in Bairrada, Portugal, owned and managed by Maria-João (Maria) Pato and her father, Luís Pato. The estate works vineyards in Amoreira da Gândara, with sandy soils, and Óis do Bairro, with chalky-clay soils. It focuses on indigenous varieties including Baga, Bical, Fernão Pires, Cerceal and Sercialinho. Farming follows organic and sustainable practices, with a transition toward regenerative viticulture; the wines are marketed as organic and vegan. Winemaking is led by Maria-João and Luís, with a small-scale, artisanal approach.
