Domaine Saint Nicolas

France

Domaine Saint Nicolas is a family-run estate in Brem-sur-Mer, Vendée, in the Fiefs Vendéens appellation of the Loire Valley. Founded by Patrice Michon in 1960, it is now led by Thierry Michon alongside his sons Antoine and Mickael and other family members. The domaine has farmed organically and biodynamically since 1995 and is certified by Biodyvin and Demeter, with no synthetic inputs, hand harvesting, horse-drawn work, biodynamic composts, and buffer zones to protect vineyard balance. In the cellar, the approach is non-interventionist, favoring wood vessels as a living material and experimenting with amphora since 2014, with the aim of producing wines with depth and texture that reflect this distinctive former salt-marsh terroir.
