Domaine La Bouïssière

France

Domaine La Bouïssière is a family-run Faravel estate in Gigondas, at the foot of the Dentelles de Montmirail. Founded by Antonin Faravel, who planted the original vines in the 1960s, it has been carried forward by his sons Thierry and Gilles. The domaine produces wines from the three southern Rhône crus of Gigondas, Vacqueyras and Beaumes-de-Venise, including the mountain vineyards of Grande Bouïssière, La Ponche and Bel-Air. Farming follows non-certified organic principles, using only sulfur, copper and natural amendments, with hand harvesting and careful soil and canopy work. In the cellar, the approach is low intervention, with indigenous yeasts, gravity-fed transfers, partial destemming and unfined, unfiltered bottling with minimal sulfur. Elevage varies by cru, using foudres, barriques and demi-muids to develop freshness, tension and terroir expression.
