Domaine Francis Blanchet

France

Vins Francis Blanchet is an eighth-generation family estate in Pouilly-sur-Loire in the Loire Valley, focused on Sauvignon Blanc for Pouilly-Fumé. Run by Francis Blanchet with his wife Noémie and son Mathieu, the domaine combines long family continuity with a clear sustainable approach. Certified HVE since 2019, it farms with grassed or selectively plowed rows, mechanical tillage and manual hoeing, beneficial herb planting, and reduced chemical inputs, avoiding pre-emergence herbicides. The vineyards span the appellation’s key soils, including flint, limestone, clay-limestone and Kimmeridgian marl, and the wines are made to reflect these terroirs. In the cellar, the style is low-intervention, with gentle pressing, gravity-fed handling, indigenous yeast fermentations, and mainly temperature-controlled stainless-steel aging, alongside some oak-aged cuvées.
