Domaine des Roches Neuves

France

Domaine des Roches Neuves is a family-owned estate in Varrains, Saumur-Champigny, acquired by Thierry Germain in 1991 and co-managed with his wife Marie. Spanning about 28 hectares across 61 parcels of clay-limestone, sandstone, and flint soils, it focuses on Cabernet Franc and Chenin Blanc. Fully converted to biodynamic farming since the early 2000s and certified by Biodyvin, the domaine emphasizes minimal intervention: hand harvesting, natural fermentation, and no filtration for select cuvées. Thierry leads winemaking, supported by longtime collaborator Michel Chevret, with their son Louis joining in 2020, reflecting a deep, personal commitment to terroir-driven wines.
