Croydon Vineyard Estate

Croydon Vineyard Estate is a residential and wine-producing estate at the foot of the Helderberg Mountains in Somerset West, Western Cape. Originally a fruit farm, it was transformed in 2005, with vineyards planted among Cape vernacular homes and an integrated cellar at the Lifestyle Centre. Early-harvested grapes are made into a range of wines using traditional and modern techniques, including French oak, ceramic eggs and stainless-steel tanks; the wines are sold internationally. Winemaking has been overseen by Rikus Neethling since the 2015 vintage. The estate is governed by homeowner-trustees, with WineCo directors overseeing lifestyle, vineyards and marketing, giving the project a distinctive community-led character.
