Producer

Château Virecourt Conté

France

Château Virecourt Conté is a small, family-owned estate in La Rivière, Gironde, run by Xavier and Laurence Chassagnoux of Chassagnoux Père et Fille. Its 5-hectare vineyard, planted with vines averaging 30 years old, is farmed without herbicides since 1998, with reasoned soil management and Level 3 High Environmental Value certification since 2018. The estate is also in conversion to organic farming, with some sources describing the wine as organically certified. Winemaking is carried out in temperature-controlled concrete tanks, where the wine is fermented and aged, reflecting a focused, hands-on approach to Bordeaux production.
