Château Monichot is a family-owned organic estate in Bordeaux’s Côtes de Bourg, on a historic property dating to the 1700s. Its vineyards are planted mainly to Merlot, with Malbec and Cabernet Sauvignon, on limestone and clay soils. Certified organic and farmed without chemical pesticides, herbicides or irrigation, the estate maintains biodiversity through fruit trees and flower- and shrub-rich habitats that support pollinators. Low yields and minimal-intervention winemaking produce red, rosé and sparkling wines in limited quantities, following strict appellation regulations. Château Monichot also offers wine-tasting experiences and operates a sustainable bed and breakfast.
