France

Château La Grande Métairie is a family-owned Bordeaux estate founded in 1964 and now run by the fourth-generation Ithier-Buffeteau family. Jean-Luc Buffeteau oversees the estate and serves as winemaker, while his sister Claire manages administration and sales. A member of Bordeaux’s Wine Environmental Management System (SME) since 2012, the estate combines sustainable practices with careful cellar work, including manual grape selection, destemming, cold maceration, temperature-controlled stainless-steel fermentation, and aging on fine lees with regular stirring. Its wines are produced from vineyards spanning six AOPs.
