Château L'Évangile

France

Château L’Évangile is a Pomerol estate in Bordeaux owned by the family-run Domaines Barons de Rothschild (Lafite) since 1990. It was the first property in the DBR portfolio to convert to organic farming, with a strong focus on biodiversity through hedges, tree planting, beehives, and monitoring by specialists. Vineyard work is carried out by hand with modest yields, reflecting a careful, quality-minded approach. In the cellar, Charbel Abboud oversees winemaking, including techniques such as intra-parcel vinification, micro-vinification in barrel, and amphora ageing. The estate combines DBR’s long-term sustainable philosophy with a detailed, site-specific approach to terroir and vinification.
