Château Haut Nouchet

France

Château Haut Nouchet is a family-owned estate in Martillac, at the heart of Pessac-Léognan, managed by the Briest siblings. Its vineyards lie on three gravelly rises with clay-limestone subsoil, amid woods and meadows. The estate has pursued sustainable viticulture since 1992, using traditional tillage rather than herbicides, natural pheromones, organic treatments and parcel-level precision to protect soil and biodiversity. The range includes full-bodied red and white wines, along with rosé, sparkling and fortified cuvées, made primarily from Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. Winemaking benefits from the technical guidance of consultant Stéphane Derenoncourt.
