Château Caillou is a family-owned, 13-hectare estate in the Barsac appellation of Bordeaux, run by the same family since 1909 and now in its fourth generation. The vineyard is a single block on an argilo-calcareous plateau, with a subsoil rich in limestone blocks that impart a distinct minerality and finesse to the wines. Classified as a Grand Cru Classé in 1855, the estate is dedicated to expressing its terroir, producing Sauternes (harvested by hand with noble rot), dry Bordeaux whites, and Crémant de Bordeaux. The family emphasizes ancestral know-how and offers immersive visits, vertical tastings, and other wine-tourism experiences, reflecting a deep, generational passion for viticulture.
