Charles Lachaux

France

Charles Lachaux leads the family-owned, sixth-generation Domaine Arnoux-Lachaux in Vosne-Romanée and Nuits-Saint-Georges, alongside his mother, Florence Arnoux-Lachaux. The vineyards are farmed organically, biodynamically and regeneratively, using low-impact practices including horse ploughing and high-density planting; some parcels are in official organic conversion, though no formal certifications are otherwise noted. Extremely low yields result in limited production. Winemaking is low-intervention, with whole-cluster fermentation, short maceration and the use of ceramic vessels. The estate also includes a Chambolle-Musigny parcel planted in the 1970s on rocky clay-limestone soils.
