Castello delle Regine is a family-run estate between Narni and Amelia in Umbria, founded in 1994 by Paolo Nodari and Livia Colantonio. Its vineyards lie on carefully studied sand-and-clay hillside soils, with north–south exposure, and are farmed using low-impact sustainable practices and natural fertilisers. Surrounding oak woodland creates a favorable microclimate with marked day–night temperature variation. Historical Sangiovese Grosso and Merlot vineyards, alongside newer plantings selected under Franco Bernabei’s supervision, form the basis of wines described as authentic expressions of central Umbria, with robust structure suited to extended bottle ageing. Harvesting is carried out by hand. The wider estate also includes olive groves, livestock, vegetable gardens, a restaurant, and guest accommodations.
