Casisano is a Montalcino estate in Tuscany’s south-east hills, between Sant’Antimo and the Orcia valley, owned by the Tommasi family since 2015 after its acquisition from the Ciarpella family. Tommasi retained the original team, with Giancarlo Tommasi and consultant Emiliano Falsini guiding a meticulous approach in vineyard and cellar. The high-altitude, terraced vineyards are parcel-managed and planted to Sangiovese Grosso on galestro, clay and limestone-rich soils, with strong day-night shifts that support freshness and structure. Farming follows the Tommasi Naturae integrated, eco-sustainable program, with resource-conscious cellar work and recycled, FSC-certified packaging. Fermentations use native yeasts in stainless steel and wooden vats, followed by aging in large Slavonian oak, aiming for a classic yet refined Montalcino expression marked by elegance, finesse, freshness and longevity.
