Cascina San Michele is an artisanal winery in Costigliole d’Asti, in Piedmont’s Astesana area, led by Marco Minnucci. Founded in 2010, it works with indigenous Piedmontese varieties and organically farmed vineyards, with certification since 2013. The estate encourages biodiversity through considered grassing between the rows, using species including phacelia, horseradish, crimson clover, and mustard, while avoiding chemical herbicides. Its south-facing vineyards lie on fossil-rich Marne di Sant’Agata marl and fine sands, with diurnal temperature variation that supports slow ripening, freshness, and aromatic definition. The wines reflect a landscape between Langhe and Monferrato, within the UNESCO-listed vineyard landscapes of Piedmont.
