Fattoria Camigliano is a family-owned estate in the historic village of Camigliano, on the western side of Montalcino. Acquired by Walter Ghezzi in 1957, it is now led by his son Gualtiero and family, who have developed a strong focus on Brunello di Montalcino and Sangiovese. The vineyards are farmed organically, with controlled grassing, green manure, mechanical weed management and the reuse of vineyard and cellar waste for biomass energy. Selected Sangiovese clones are planted across varied soils, exposures and elevations. Winemaking combines careful grape selection and gravity-fed handling with oak, cement and modern cellar technology. The largely underground winery was designed to preserve and restore the medieval village, reflecting the family’s commitment to both the landscape and its historic setting.
