Producer

Caldora

Italy

Caldora is the quality-focused project of the farmer-owned Cantina Sociale di Ortona cooperative in Ortona, Abruzzo, launched in 1999. It selects grapes from approximately 200 hectares of higher-quality terroirs, where lower yields are used to encourage greater concentration. The wines combine modern winemaking technology with traditional methods and are hand-crafted. Caldora also reflects a commitment to social sustainability, including Montepulciano d’Abruzzo made with grapes from Soggiorno Proposta, an association supporting young people recovering from drug addiction. Its wines are exported to more than 30 countries.
