Domaine Marquis d'Angerville

France

Domaine Marquis d’Angerville is a historic family estate in Volnay, in Burgundy’s Côte de Beaune, owned by the same family since 1804. Today it is led by Guillaume d’Angerville, with daughter Margot d’Angerville, Renaud de Villette, and régisseur François Duvivier involved in the domaine and winemaking. The estate farms important Premier Cru sites in Volnay, as well as holdings in Meursault and Pommard, including the monopole Clos des Ducs. Biodynamic farming began in 2006 and was fully certified in 2009, with soil tillage, low yields, and only natural treatments. In the cellar, the approach is traditional and restrained, emphasizing gentle extraction, native yeasts, limited new oak, and careful bottling with minimal intervention.
