Producer

Bret Brothers

France

Bret Brothers is a family-owned producer based in Vinzelles in southern Burgundy, founded by brothers Jean-Philippe and Jean-Guillaume Bret and working alongside their family estate, La Soufrandière. The brothers focus on climat- and parcel-specific wines from the Mâconnais and parts of Beaujolais, with an emphasis on terroir expression. Farming is fully organic, ECOCERT-certified since 2006, with biodynamic practices and sourced grapes that are organic or in conversion. In the cellar they favor hand-harvested fruit, native yeasts, low yields, whole-cluster and carbonic fermentations where appropriate, and minimal-sulfur “Zen” vinifications, including some zero-sulfur fermentations with only small additions at bottling.
