Borgo Paglianetto is an independent, certified-organic winery in Matelica, at the heart of Verdicchio di Matelica DOC and DOCG country in Italy’s Marche region. Founded in 2008 through the merger of two wineries, it farms hillside vineyards in the Alta Valle dell’Esino, on clay-calcareous soils, with native Verdicchio alongside Sangiovese, Montepulciano and Lacrima. A member of FIVI, the winery focuses on quality and sustainable production while respecting the landscape, using photovoltaic energy, lighter bottles, recyclable plant-based corks and local suppliers. Its wines aim to express Matelica with freshness, intensity and elegance, including indigenous-yeast wines fermented and aged in stainless steel, as well as more ambitious Cru and Riserva bottlings.
