Bodegas Castro Martin is a family-owned estate in Ribadumia’s Salnés Valley, Rías Baixas, founded in 1887 and still run by the founding family. Managed by owner-winemaker Angela Martín, it focuses exclusively on Albariño grown on granitic sands, producing fresh, Atlantic wines with characteristic zesty acidity. The estate uses natural viticulture practices, including pergola trellises and low-vigor vines, without organic or biodynamic certification. Careful quality control, gentle pressing, cool settling and slow, temperature-controlled fermentation are central to the winery’s approach, supported by gravity-flow handling and stainless-steel tanks. Its wines aim to express a truly typical Albariño style while combining denominational traditions with incremental technical improvements.
