Bodega La Rural

Argentina

Founded in Mendoza in 1885 by Italian immigrant Felipe Rutini, Bodega La Rural remains owned and operated by his descendants. Built in Coquimbito, Maipú, the historic winery helped shape Mendoza’s early wine industry, while the family’s 1924 decision to plant in the Valle de Uco anticipated the region’s later prominence. Today, vineyards extend across Maipú, Rivadavia, La Consulta, Altamira and Tupungato. The estate combines its nineteenth-century heritage with modern winemaking infrastructure, including stainless-steel tanks, pneumatic presses and temperature-controlled storage. Its historic gallery preserves tools and objects documenting the evolution of viticulture, reflecting a philosophy that brings together tradition, territory and technological development.
