Founded in 1876, Beringer is a family-owned Napa Valley winery and the region’s oldest continuously operating winery. Its vineyards, including Steinhauer Ranch and sites in Knights Valley, are certified sustainable by third-party organizations. Farming practices include minimal tillage, compost application, moisture monitoring, and drip irrigation to conserve water. Chief Winemaker Mark Beringer, a great-great-grandson of founder Jacob Beringer, has led the winery since 2015, following Laurie Hook and a tradition that includes Ed Sbragia and Myron Nightingale.
