Punset

Italy

Punset is a family-owned estate in Neive, Piedmont, led by owner-winemaker Marina Marcarino, whose family has farmed these vineyards for generations. Founded in 1964, the winery converted fully to organic farming in the early 1980s under Marina and is described as Italy’s first organically certified winery. Today it works with certified organic, biodynamic-inspired, natural and vegan-friendly practices, guided by Masanobu Fukuoka’s philosophy and a strong focus on vineyard health and terroir. The estate farms calcareous-clay vineyards, including 50-year-old vines in the Basarin area, with manual harvests. In the cellar, Marina favors traditional methods such as native-yeast fermentations in concrete and aging in Slavonian oak. Barbaresco is the house specialty, with Basarin and Riserva bottlings central to its reputation.
