Nals Margreid

Italy

Nals Margreid is a historic cooperative winery in South Tyrol, rooted in Cantina Nals (founded 1932) and shaped by later mergers with Margreid and Magrè-Niclara, with heritage also linked to the Von Campi estate of 1764. Family growers farm vineyards across 14 distinct sites between Nalles and Margreid, where varied soils, elevations and strong alpine-Mediterranean contrasts define the terroir. The winery emphasizes respectful, low-impact viticulture and natural, gentle cellar work, supported by a modern facility designed by Markus Scherzer for sustainable production, though no formal certifications are cited. Under winemaker Harald Schraffl, the wines are presented as mineral, authentic and terroir-driven, balancing alpine freshness, fruit and elegance.
