Moschopolis is a family winery in Northern Greece with three generations of involvement in wine. Founded by Dr. Georgios Germanis, it focuses on native varieties, scientific vineyard research and low-intervention winemaking. Its vineyards include dry-farmed sites in Western Macedonia and near Thessaloniki, with stony soils and elevations ranging from approximately 230 to 950 metres. The winery describes its approach as organic regenerative cultivation, with much vineyard work carried out manually, sheep used for grazing and natural fertilization, and limited intervention in the vines. Its sustainability vision includes renewable-energy autonomy, circular-economy principles and zero waste. Moschopolis has undertaken detailed research into Assyrtiko’s adaptation to Northern Greece, contributing to the creation of Moschopolis 6. Wines are shaped by site, including mineral, saline and high-acid characteristics.
