Kruger Family Wines is a family-run boutique producer in the Western Cape, led by winemaker Johan Kruger, who grew up on his family’s Sterhuis farm in Stellenbosch and trained at Jordan Wines, in the USA, and in Burgundy. The label does not own vineyards or a winery, instead leasing single-vineyard parcels and renting cellar space while working with partners including JHN Hanekom at Pearly Gates and Johan Van Zyl at Heidedal. Fruit comes from high-altitude sites on loam, clay, and decomposed granite soils. The focus is on site-expressive wines made with low-intervention methods such as whole-bunch pressing, natural fermentations in stainless steel or neutral barrels, lees ageing, minimal additives, and zero dosage for the Brut Rosé. No formal sustainability certifications are listed.
