Dominio de Pingus

Spain

Dominio de Pingus is the private, family-run Ribera del Duero project of Danish oenologist Peter Sisseck, who founded the estate in 1995 and still directs the winemaking. At its core are very old Tempranillo vines on gravel over clay-limestone, traditionally trained en vaso and farmed without fertilizers or pesticides. The estate works organically and biodynamically, formerly holding Demeter certification and continuing with internal biodynamic protocols, including compost from cattle manure. Beyond the core vineyards, Pingus also relies on close collaboration with local growers, supporting sustainable farming through pruning guidance and quality-based payments. The style is rooted in meticulous viticulture, old vines, and low-intervention farming.
