Descendientes de José Palacios

Spain

Descendientes de José Palacios is a family-owned boutique winery in Corullón, Bierzo, founded in the late 1990s by Álvaro Palacios and his nephew Ricardo Pérez Palacios, and named for Álvaro’s father and Ricardo’s grandfather. Working steep, slate-rich old-vine sites, including traditionally goblet-trained vineyards, the family farms biodynamically with hand and mule work and self-made preparations. In the cellar, they use gravity-flow methods to reduce energy use, with winemaking overseen by Álvaro and Ricardo, who also manage the vineyards. Their wines reflect a meticulous, low-intervention approach rooted in Bierzo’s slate soils and dramatic hillside parcels.
