Château d’Issan

France

Château d’Issan is a historic Margaux estate in Bordeaux, classified as a Grand Cru Classé in 1855, with roots stretching back to the 12th century. Owned by the Cruse family since 1945 and restored with the Lorenzetti family since 2012, it is managed by Emmanuel Cruse with Technical Director Eric Pellon. The estate emphasizes heritage, authenticity, and a passionate search for excellence, pairing traditional vineyard work and manual harvesting with parcel vinification and renovated cellars. Its approach also highlights harmony with nature through polyculture, biodiversity refuge zones, vine replanting, and reasoned treatments, though no formal certification is cited.
